Comparing Education Systems

The Irish Education System performs well in the latest(2000) OECD comparisons of educational attainment in around 30 countries in the developed world. We are near the top in Reading Literacy, average at Maths and above average in Science. Not that you'd know this from reading the Irish papers which prefer to slag off teachers on issues like holidays, pay and league tables. These are the league tables they should be publishing. Luckily we do have some commentators like David McWilliams to stand up for us.
